Keynote Speech by Kevin Xu at APEC Summit: Building the Future of Human-Centered Digital Healthcare

On October 30, 2025, Kevin Xu, Board Chairman of MEBO Group, delivered a keynote speech titled “Global Cooperation for Better Digital Healthcare” at the APEC 2025 CEO Summit.

Kevin Xu emphasized that the core of digital healthcare development lies in the collection and integration of real-world data. He called for cross-economy collaboration to build an interconnected, inclusive, and sustainable dynamic digital healthcare ecosystem. He stressed, “Credible, actionable, and practice-derived data is the lifeline of digital healthcare advancement.” True innovation begins with practice, and only systems built on solid data can achieve dynamic learning, precise adaptation, and continuous optimization.

Drawing on MEBO Group’s experience within the APEC region, Kevin Xu highlighted that the Group has been integrating advanced technology with local medical expertise through trauma care and regenerative medical technology training. This approach not only enhances the emergency response capabilities of grassroots medical institutions but also steadily builds a foundational framework for digital assessment and diagnosis. He particularly noted that the regenerative medical technology pioneered by Professor Xu Rongxiang offers an accessible and effective solution for the long-neglected field of wound management, creating an inclusive development model that advances both technology dissemination and local capacity building in parallel.

In addressing the diverse resources, standards, and cultural contexts across APEC economies, Kevin Xu emphasized the need to strike a balance between unified norms and local adaptation. Citing the 2023 APEC Briefing on Burn Prevention and Treatment as an example, he illustrated how artificial intelligence and digital tools can enable medical quality control while respecting local conditions, thereby achieving the goal of building a harmonious yet diverse ecosystem.

Looking ahead, Kevin Xu outlined three key directions for cooperation: driving business model innovation to achieve a win-win scenario for growth and social responsibility; actively addressing health challenges posed by the climate crisis; and integrating global humanitarian platforms to create synergistic effects. He also highlighted the Silver Healing, Community Care, launched in collaboration with the Clinton Global Initiative. This program aims to extend coverage to multiple low- and middle-income communities in the coming years through regenerative medical technology, standardized training, and multi-stakeholder partnerships, with the goal of improving wound care for the elderly.

Kevin Xu concluded by emphasizing that sustainable development can only be achieved when business innovation aligns with social value, and scientific research connects with community needs. “We are not merely treating wounds. We are building trust, strengthening resilience, and advancing shared prosperity.”

As former Chair of the APEC Organizing Committee, Kevin Xu has consistently presented systematic perspectives and practical proposals on Asia-Pacific economic cooperation and global health governance over the past three years in San Francisco, Lima, and Gyeongju. Moving forward, he will continue leveraging platforms such as APEC to expand collaborative networks, engage diverse stakeholders, and jointly advance a more inclusive, resilient, and vibrant development vision for the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

The speech resonated deeply and garnered extensive attention from multiple media outlets, with its content widely disseminated across various platforms.
