Boosting China-Korea Regenerative Medical Technology Cooperation under APEC Framework to Drive Health Innovation across Asia-Pacific Region

On July 21st, 2025, ahead of the upcoming 2025 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, a high-level China-Korea dialogue on regenerative medical technology was successfully held at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital in Seoul. Prior to the event, Kevin Xu, Chairman of the Board of MEBO Group and Co-Chair of the APEC 2023 Host Committee, met with Lee Seong-woo, Vice President of Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Secretary General of the 2025 APEC CEO Summit Secretariat. The strong and long-standing partnership between the two sides has played a pivotal role in enabling the successful organization of this event.

Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, the largest and most renowned burn center in Korea, hosted the exchange. During the session, Kim Do-hyun, Vice President of the hospital, introduced its comprehensive clinical framework and shared impressive outcomes achieved through the application of regenerative medical technology. In Korea, regenerative medical technology has not only been recognized as standard therapy for burns but has also been successfully extended to treating chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers. He Bin, Vice President of People’s Hospital of Ningxiang City, then presented insights into the clinical applications of regenerative medical technology in China, with a particular focus on diabetic foot ulcer treatment. His presentation highlighted the therapy’s effectiveness in controlling infections and promoting granulation tissue growth. Following the presentations, experts from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions, laying a solid foundation for deeper cooperation in future clinical practice.

Leveraging its significant influence within the APEC framework, MEBO Group continues to serve as a key connector, facilitating the integration of health resources across China, Korea, and the broader Asia-Pacific region. This event marks an important step forward in advancing APEC’s health goals and promoting the regional development of regenerative medical technology.
